  • Why Play Fall Ball at Portland Baseball Club

Fall ball is a time of player development. A time for players to learn new skills, develop pitches, improve on certain aspects of their game. To do this, players need practice and game opportunities. PBC offers both! Each age group offers a unique experience for players who are looking to grow this fall.

    10U & 12U Teams

The 10U & 12U fall teams will play in the West Linn Fall League on turf fields at Field's Bridge and Oppenlander. Last year even with the terrible weather we did not have any rain outs! They will play for 8 Sundays beginning the week before Labor Day. 10U is considered 3rd and 4th graders. 12U is considered 5th and 6th graders.

    7th-9th Grade Teams

Our 7th-9th grade teams will play in our PBC Fall League which will feature 4 PBC teams that play each other on a rotating basis. Each team will play one 9 inning game each Sunday starting the week after Labor Day for 6 consecutive weeks.

    10th-12th Grade Teams

Our 10th-12th grade teams will play in our PBC Fall League which will feature 4 PBC teams that play each other on a rotating basis. Each team will play one 9 inning game each Sunday starting the week after Labor Day for 6 consecutive weeks.

    PBC Training

Included in each player's fee is our fall ball training program. Each team gets a 90 minute mid week practice on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights from 5-6:30pm or 6:30-8:00pm. These practices are optional as many players are multi sport athletes and we at PBC encourage multi sport players. The practices will be 30 minutes of infield/outfield, 30 minutes of pitching/catching, and 30 minutes of hitting skill work. There will be 2 teams training at a time with 2-3 coaches at each practice.

Teams will have a 60 minute practice prior to each Sunday's game. These practices will cover field specific skills such as cut & relays, small ball defense, base running, and more. Players will have opportunities to learn multiple positions during games and workouts.
